Gateshead will have to try again after Tuesday's FA Trophy 2nd round clash with Chippenham Town was again postponed. The match has been pushed back a week to Tuesday 19th of January, 7:45pm kick-off.
The 3rd round draw has taken place today and should Gateshead see off Chippenham, then we'll be on the road to the winners of Maidenhead United or Barrow (That tie is due to take place tomorrow night). The 3rd round is pencilled in for Saturday 30th January, meaning the match at Eastbourne Borough would need moving. Holker street is no stranger to us with the Tynesiders playing out a 3-3 draw on Boxing day, whilst Maidenhead United (not far from Reading) managed by Peter Griffin have spent most of the last two decades in the Isthmian League and now the Conference South (where they currently sit 16th) so are an unknown quantity.
Elsewhere, Saturdays trip to Tomi Ameobi's Forest Green Rovers is in doubt with the South-West expected to get more snow before the weekend. Before our match they are scheduled to play at Notts County in the FA Cup, so fingers crossed that plays a part in helping us to three points.
