Narrow loss on Teesside - Workington away up next

Gateshead went down to a late goal on Teesside as Boro won a close training friendly 3-2. Kris Gate and Martin Brittain scored for the Tynesiders as most players saw game time.

Gateshead travel to Workington tomorrow (Saturday 10th July, kick-off 3pm) to take on the Conference North play-off semi-finalists with a number of trialists to feature again. However James Curtis will be missing with an injured foot, Phil Turnbull has a groin strain and Jon Shaw has calf trouble (hopefully not a re-occurance of the injury which blighted his loan spell last season).

Trialists: Josh Mimms (Goalkeeper, last at York City), Shaun Kelly (Defender, last at Burton Albion), David Brown (Left Back, last at Sunderland), Michael Carr (Midfielder, last at Stalybridge Celtic), Tyrell Burgess (Winger, last at Bermuda Hogees), David Dowson (Striker, last at Sunderland).
