After Tuesday nights flood alerts that caused the Setanta Shield match with Blyth Spartans called off, Gateshead travel to Droylsden in search of FA Cup glory.
This will be the third encounter with the bloods this season after meeting both in league and first round of the Setanta Shield.
Both the previous matches have ended in 1-1 draws after 90 minutes, with Gateshead winning 2-1 in extra time in the Setanta match.
Sadly Craig Nelthorpe is unable to play in the FA Cup after parent club Doncaster Rover, declined Gateshead’s appeal to let him play. Also Lee Novak is Cup tied having already play in a previous qualifying round for former club Newcastle Blue Star.
David Southern and Graeme Armstrong are to be the likely partnership upfront for the Cup tie, with Player coach Paul Thompson likely to be back up from the bench.
Carl Jones is still missing with a broken jaw, Matt hocking is likely to partner Curtis in defence.
