Tuesday night see’s the Tynesiders back on the silverware campaign in the Setanta Shield away to Blue Square Premier new boys Barrow.
Both Gateshead and Barrow enjoyed good wins in their league fixtures last weekend, with Barrow giving Forest Green a 3-1 thumping at Holker Street in front of 1,440. While Gateshead gave Hyde United a lesson in football slotted 5 goals past them, with Lee Novak grabbing 4 of the 5 goals, Jamie Harwood scored the other in the Heeds 5-2 win.

One time Heed transfer target, Gateshead born striker Richard Brodie is on loan at Holker Street from York City and could start against the Tynesiders on Tuesday night.
Another Geordie in the Barrow squad is Paul Tait the one time Everton Trainee, he is much travelled having played for no less than 13 clubs during his career, including Crewe Alexandra, Wigan and Rochdale to name a few. Although at the age of 34 Tait is in the later stages of his career, yet he will still be a fox in the box that the Heed defence will have to guard against.
Darren Holloway could find himself in the starting line up after making and earlier than expected debut during Saturdays win at Hyde Utd. Holloway had been due to get 20 to 30 min’s from the bench in the second half yet and injury to Matt hocking seen him appear in the first half.
